Nothing happens when I try to restore purchases

I've just bought a subscription and have got an activation code by email. I downloaded the app from the App Store onto my iPad using the link in the email but when I tap on Settings>Subscriptions>Restore Purchases nothing happens. How do I activate my subscriptions?

Dear Ali,

The yearly subscription key you've received via e-mail needs to be activated on a Desktop device. Will you be using MoneyWiz on one? (Mac/Windows) If yes, please just activate your subscription on Desktop device while signed in to your SYNCbits account so the subscription information can sync to other devices, including that iPad.
